History
The Rashtreeya Sikshana Samithi Trust (RSST) was founded in the year 1940. The
mission of the founder was to 'Impart Quality Education to all sections of the
Society'. Sri M.C.Shivananda Sarma, an educationalist and Sri Meda Kasturi
Ranga Setty, a businessman, philanthropist joined hands together to pull this
movement forward. Today, six decades later, RSST through the RV institutions
(Rashtreeya Vidyalayas), is in the forefront among providers of quality
education in the State of
If in today's global context, the brand 'RV'
immediately brings to one's mind a class of young achievers in enterprise, information
technology, industry and research, it is because of the flagship institution of
RSST, namely "RV College of Engineering (RVCE)".
Global recognition of RVCE's initiatives has
given it the impetus to modernize itself, expand the existing and explore newer
frontiers of knowledge for the benefit of the society. In the process, RVCE has
been continuously evolving itself, strengthening its roots with every offshoot
of a new branch. To the society to which it owes its existence, its concerns
have always been to provide opportunities, especially to the underprivileged,
physically challenged, disabled, and economically weak. With this motive, RVCE
has been providing healthy academic ambience without frills of luxury.
Commendable success notwithstanding, its commitments are deepening.
This saga of sustained
success is scripted by an inspired leadership of the RSST comprising of eminent
men from different vocations, chosen periodically. This commitment is unstinted
and focused.

Departments
RVCE's exception is perhaps most discerning
from others in its approach to creating self-driven departments. Each
department is provided independent infrastructure and is self-contained to a
very large extent. The heads of these departments assume complete charge of the
departments - teaching, management, development, research, industry
interaction, etc and are ably supported by a team of Professors, Asst.
Professors, Lecturers and technical/administrative staff. With complete clarity
on the core concentration of the stream of study, they are able to device their
own innovative pedagogy drawing inspiration from other departments and
organizations outside RVCE.

Research Centre
RVCE, true to its penchant for discovering
newer frontiers in science and technology, has been a veritable place for
profound research. While the teaching faculty are continuously engaged in
research and preparing articles / papers on technical subjects, many
departments in the college have to their credit, successful research projects
conducted through a process that involves teaching faculty, students and
sometimes agencies from outside the college.
These projects have not only held the college
at high esteem in the Indian technical arena but also have helped seed newer
entrepreneurships through profitable commercial application of the research
findings.
Some of the facts
indicative of the success of RVCE research centre are:
²
Recognition of the Centre
for MS and Ph.D. studies
²
Publications in national
and international journals
²
Manufacturing cell
enabling the centre generate its own steam
²
Sponsored research
projects executed by the centre
