The Rural Tourism Branch in Israel has grown considerably in recent years. This includes guest houses and B&B in agricultural settlements (Kibbutz, etc.) and private houses/families and farms.

 

According to the Central Bureau of Statistics data, the revenues from rural tourism in Israel in 2006 reached NIS 331 million, of which NIS 143 million were from private rural tourism. This represents lodging by just above 2 million guests, most (90%) Israelis, in some 26,000 rooms. Over 75% of the guests of the guest houses are in the north regions of Israel.

 

In comparison, 2006 revenues were about 6.5% lower than 2005 rural tourism revenues.
