SM HDSL PAIR GAIN SYSTEM – SMHDPG
INTRODUCTION:-
The SMHDPG Pair Gain System is Subject’s leading product, is based on
the latest TC-PAM coding technology to provide optimum performance with minimum
interference to other network services, that delivers POTs telephone to 8~20
subscribers over a single twisted pair of wires. It can provide subscribers
with high Quality Voice, Fax, Internet, Public Telephone Charging, Caller ID
display etc.
In the simplest form as figure 1.1
One SMHDPG System is composed of a Central Office Unit (COT) and a Remote
Terminal (RT). The COT is mounted in a shelf at the exchange and is connected
directly to 8~20 subscriber lines at the rear of the shelf. The RT is located
at or near the subscriber’s premises, is powered from COT via a single twisted
pair, thus greatly decreasing the line investment and the cost of the overall
project.
The Cable connection between the COT and RT is performed via symmetrical
two wire twisted pair cables between 0.4 and 0.9mm diameter. For cables of 0.4
mm diameter the transmission distance between the COT and RT is limited to 5
km.
Features:-
Ø
Telephone access for 8~20 customers over one copper
pair.
Ø
64 kbps coding on all channels, PCM Voice coding to
ITU-T G.711.
Ø
Single pair DSL using TC-PAM transmission
technology.
Ø
12 kHz or 16 kHz metering and reversals on all
channels.
Ø
K.20, K.21 over-voltage and over-current
protection.
Ø
Supports caller line identification and other class
of services.
Ø
The Remote Unit electronics enclosed in a totally
waterproof enclosure.
