The college invites experts from reputed industries to deliver lectures to the students and discuss the various problems faced by the industries and their solutions are given after a careful study of the problems. We plan to offer short term courses to the students and teachers to keep them aware and abreast of the challenging times. Sensitive and responsive to the phenomenal growth in science and technology, AFSET conducts seminars, panel-discussions, work shops on national and international levels for the benefits of technology and science community.

 

AFSET has always treated the education of technology as social responsibility. It has encouraged its students to become active participants in the extra-curricular activities also. The students have fetched laurels in the field of sports, dancing, music, one act plays etc helping them become socially advanced, spiritually elevated and industrially proficient. AFSET is therefore, an inspiration towards an appreciation of a high intellectual and aesthetic ideal. college has constituted some committees consistuing of the faculty members for smooth working of the college like - library committees , proctorial board, academic committees and time table committees.

 

We are quite sure that the budding engineers that are being nurtured and developed today shall act as a driving force for the nation tomorrow.

 

Hostel

 

The College has provided clean and hygienic residential facilities at present off the campus. The Hostels are located at Sector - 21 C & A of Faridabad, where separate buildings for both boys and girls have been taken on rent. The students warden and staff are provided bus service from the hostel to the college to ensure convenience, security and dependability.

 

Hostel accommodation is however considered on the basis of both need and availability. The decision of the hostel committee in this matter shall be final and binding on all students. Hostel rules have been framed keeping in mind the local culture and traditions, with a view to guide and help students to attain standards of implacable conduct.

 

Therefore, while residents enjoy the maximum freedom, it is ensured that this is always within the framework of standard guidelines and procedures. Several hostel activities are organized during the academic session.

 

Library

 

A well-equipped and well-managed library is the foundation of modem educational structure. Library has the same position in any educational institution as the heart in the human body. It circulates the knowledge and information through body of the college.

 

The AFSET Library is fully computerized. It is the heart of AI-Falah Engineering College established in 1997 along with the college to support it in all eductional activities in the field of Engineering and Applied Sciences. The Library is fully capable to support the all round teaching programmes. It has a rich collection of more than 15,000 of technical books of Engineering & Applied Sciences, Thesis, and Research reports etc.and also increasing in view of expansion of course and increase in intake of students.

 

Library has a big reading hall with a support of more than 500 books for self-study. Library provides Online Public Access Catalogue System to all its members through computers. Students directly access their desired books from the shelves and borrow desired books from the Circulation Desk for home reading.

 

At a time one student can get issued upto 5 books from various categories and collections from bank. In addition to above, an exhaustive list of journals, magazines and leading national and regional newspapers are also subscribed.

 

Admission

 

Admissions to the college are made in accordance with the provisions and guidelines laid down by the competent Authority of the State Government of Haryana and as per the order of Hon'ble Supreme Court of INDIA in P.A. Inamdar v/s State of Maharashtra and others.

Allocations of Seats

Student are admitted through written test conducted by association of Private un-Aided Minority Institutions of Haryana. The date and timing of such test will be announced in News Papers . The Percentage of Muslim minority Quota will be decided by the trust in the light of the order of Hon'ble Supreme Court of India in P.A, Inamdar v/s State of Maharashtra & Others.

The Eligibility for Admission in Degree Courses
Candidate is eligible for admission to the first year of the degree course to the College if he/she fulfills the following requirements.

Eligibility for Direct Admissions for Diploma holders
3-years Diploma in Engg. from State Board of Technical Education Haryana with 60% aggregate marks in all the six semesters or its equivalent and candidate must fulfill the clause (i) (ii) & (iv) as above.

Until last session the fees chargeable were notified by the Director of Technical Education Haryana. These fees were Rs. 49000/- p.a.. Now the fee will be decided by the trust in light of the order of Hon'ble Supreme Court of India in P.A. Inamdar V/s State of Maharashtra & others.

The fees are to be revised by Haryana State Fee Committee.

Training and Placement

Training and placement cell at AFSET is devoted to training & placemet needs of their college students. M.D. University has provided for mandatory six weeks practical training for IV semester and VI semester students during their summer vacations. T & P department arranges for training of students in various industries. Such training is an essential element of engineering education whereby they begin to develop acquaintance with the industrial processes and practices in terms of procuring, manufacturing, marketing, testing etc.

The Training and Placement cell operates year round to facilitate contacts between companies and college graduates. Staff are available to respond to queries from students in respect of information about companies, placement procedures, mode of application and preparation of resume. The department also provides guidance and advice for facing interviews and group discussions.

T and P cell closely monitors openings in Govt. Sector, Technical wings of Army, Navy & Air Force and make information available to the students and forms for these. The job information from various companies are available with Training & Placement officer. The attempts are made through interaction with industries for managing campus interviews.

Computer Science and Engineering

 

The department is well equipped with latest hardware and software in order to provide the students a 'hands on' exposure in programming & developing and testing of software .

 

The department organizes activities like seminars, group discussions, technical debates etc. The department has one computer centre three computer labs having more than 200 computers having latest configuration for the exclusive use of the students.

 

It also has 'Cyber Surfing Lab' which provides internet facility through Radio Link Tower to the students as well as to faculty. This lab is used for web surfing and for procuring useful information from the internet.

 

The licensed softwares available in the computer lab are Auto CAD 2002, Turbo C++, Windows 95/98, Windows NT, Windows 2000, Clients&Server, Linux, Oracle, Oracle9i, Visual Studio. NET, MS Office 2000 proxy server, Java, Norton Anti viruses 2004, Macromedia Flash MX, prolog & LISP

It is well equipped with specialized laboratories which provide expertise and facility to work on embedded design, mobile communication, electromagnetic capatibility, electronic circuit design and testing, PCB design, VLSI design, CAD and image processing

Students have their advisory body Gymkhana consisting of the excellent students for all activities of the college. Their suggestions are implemented. Every class has a Representative council of 6- students ( 2-topper , 2- average and 2- weak students) who interact with the teachers, HODs & Principal regarding various problems including teaching and others.

Mechanism/Norms & Procedure for democratic/good Governance

The governing board though its Chairman decides the major policies and prepare the budget for meeting the target set by them. Principal is the Chief executive of the college for carrying out the policies. For academic purpose the committee consisting of HODs, Librarian meets regularly. For all other functions there are committees, eg. Library committee, Exam. committee, T & P committee Proctorial Board and Anti Harassment Committee.

The Registration will be done from 21st to 25th July 2008 by the respective Departments.

The Registration forms are available with the Examination Branch. Necessary clearances will be required before registration. The fine charged by the University for delayed registration.if any, will be the responsibility of the student. It is advisable to get registered as per the prescribed time schedule

PAYMENT OF FEE

The last date of Payment of fee for the Odd Semester 2008 is already over. A Fine of Rs.100/- will be payable for the late payment of fee till 25th July 2008. Payment of the fee is Mandatory for registration.
