Andrew Corp set to expand production base in
Goa
Riding
the boom in the country’s mobile telephony, radio frequency cable and wireless
antenna manufacturer Andrew Telecommunications India Private Limited will
invest about Rs2400 millions over the next few years to expand its production
unit at Goa.
The
company also intends to use its India unit to cater for the needs of
neighbouring markets such as Nepal, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.
The
company provides its services to almost all major wireless operators, original
equipment manufacturers and integrators, among others.
The
main customers of Andrew include Bharti, Nokia, Motorola, Ericsson and
Nortel.Andrew is the first company in the country to manufacture and supply
radio frequency products to the Indian market.
Major
rivals of Andrew in the local as well as global markets are Kathrein, RFS and
Powerwave Technologies.
There
are many Chinese and Taiwanese companies present in India in this segment
through the import route.
