HISTORY
Numeric Power System was promoted for corporate conversion of
the existing non-corporate concers of the Numeric Group i.e. M/s. Numeric
Controls & Systems and M/s. Hi-Power Corporation and was incorporated on
September 1994.
The company now manufactures UPS systems and have largest number of
installations in the country. The company has technical collaboration with M/s
High Performance Drives Inc., USA for manufacture of high frequency MOSFET
based UPS systems and power conditioners. The company has been appointed as the
authorised dealer by Groupe Schneider, France and Information Systems Pte.
Limited, Singapore for their products UPS and IT products respectively.
The company has two manufacturing units are located at Sedarapet, Pondichery
and Semmanchery Village, Chennai.
In 2001-02 the company had launched new products in the line Interactive range
namely DIGITAL 500 which was well received in the market.
The company has retained its top spot in UPS & Power Electronics
Manufacturing for the 9th consecutive year from 1995 on All India ratings. The
newly launched range of intelligent UPS systems have certainly generated a good
momentum in the IT and Banking sector.
During 2002-03, the company has signed an agreement with the Board of
Investment of SriLanka (BOI) and established company's new manufacturing plant
for export of UPS systems and utilise the benefits of Indo SriLanka Free Trade
Agreement(ISFTA).Incorporated as a Private limited company (Numeric Lanka
Technologies Private Ltd),a wholly owned subsidiary of Numeric Power, has
already commenced its operations from Colombo, SriLanka.
MANUFACTURING
FACILITIES & OFFICE DETAILS IN INDIA:
For the benefit of all the new and existing shareowners we are very pleased to
list below the facilities and activities of the company NUMERIC, which has
helped us to achieve a large volume of installed base, which is the highest in
the Industry.
UNIT -1 (MAGNETICS PLANT AT PONDICHERRY): Designs & Manufactures
Transformer and wound component / coil for the own captive consumption.
UNIT - II (UPS PLANT AT PONDICHERRY): Equipped with modern assembly systems and
conveyor line, this plant deals with Design, Manufacture, Sales & Service
of NUMERIC brand UPS systems.
UNIT - III (UPS PLANT AT PONDICHERRY - CUDDALORE ROAD): Produces and supplies
1Ph / 1 Ph
NUMERIC Digital HP series to the IT / Distribution and the fast growing
banking markets in good volumes.
UNIT - IV (UPS PLANT AT PONDICHERRY - ECR): Supplies the NUMERIC Digital HPE
range of UPS systems to the IT / Distribution and the Corporate segment. The
products from this unit are 3Ph / 1 Ph type NUMERIC Digital HPE series.
CNC FABRICATION PLANT (CHENNAI - OLD MAHABALIPURAM ROAD): The modernised sheet
metal process plant encompasses powder coating facility equipped with Murata -
Japan CNC (Computer Numerical Control) punching system, DARLEY - Holland CNC
forming & press brake and GEMA - Switzerland made Powder Coating work
station.
STABILISER MANUFACTURING PLANT (CHENNAI - OLD MAHABALIPURAM ROAD): The
Stabilisers and Power Conditioning accessories are manufactured in this plant
and this unit supports NUMERIC as a total Power conditioning Systems Company in
India.
UNIT - V (UPS PLANT IN HIMACHAL PRADESH - PARWANOO): This plant was
incorporated in September 2005 to support the North India market for supplying
Numeric Digital HP and HPE range of UPS Systemsto the IT / Distribution and the
Corporate segment.
UNIT - VI (UPS PLANT WITH INTEGRATED CNC FABRICATION FACILITY IN HIMACHAL
PRADESH -PARWANOO): The establishment of this new plant is the latest venture
of NUMERIC aiming to support the growth of Northern India market. The facility
was acquired from HIMUDA under lease. The re-construction activities are to
start in July - August 2007.
EHTP: A 100% EOU under the STPI / EHTP (ELECTRONIC HARDWARE TECHNOLOGY PARK)
scheme promoted towards support of exports - located in Chennai. The UL
approved power products are exported to Canada, UK and China and the NUMERIC
brand UPS systems are exported to South America, Singapore, Vietnam, Mauritius,
Dubai and the other African - South Africa, Nigeria, Kenya, Ethopia, Uganda,
Mozambique, Sudan, Malawi and Botswana.
NORTH INDIA REGIONAL HUB (PANCHKULA - CHANDIGARH): Northern India Regional Hub
with warehouse facility established during 2005 for maintaining stocks of all
fast moving UPS systems and accessories to enable NUMERIC to meet increasing
customer demands and to reduce the delivery lead time.
EAST INDIA & NER REGIONAL HUB (SALT LAKE - KOLKATA) - with warehouse
facility established during 2005 for maintaining stocks of all fast moving UPS
systems and accessories to enable NUMERIC to meet increasing customer demands
and to reduce the delivery lead time.
SALES & SERVICE LOCATIONS: 45 sales and service centers have been
added during the year to the existing 156 centers. This has increased the total
number of centers to 201 by the year ended 31st March 2007. This has helped
NUMERIC to extend the market reach and to move even more closer to the
customers.
NUMERIC - SOCOMEC JOINT VENTURE
The Company entered into a Joint Venture with the French UPS major SOCOMEC S.A,
to distribute, market and service the 3 phase range of UPS Systems of > 10
KVA Products ( 3 phase input / 3 Phase output) manufactured by SOCOMEC S.A. to
customers in India and provide all related services thereto. A JVC in the name
of SOCOMEC - NUMERIC UPS PRIVATE LIMITED was incorporated for the above
mentioned purpose and the Launch of the product and its distribution and
service has been successful.
In a very short time the JVC has won many prestigious projects from CISCO -
ORACLE - BMW - NOKIA - GOLDMAN SACHS - FRANKLIN TEMPLETON - YES BANK - YAHOO
DATA CENTRE - CTS - HEXAWARE - SIFY - I GATE - LOGICA CMG - HCL TECHNOLOGIES
and many other.
FINANCIAL
PERFORMANCE WITH RESPECT TO OPERATIONAL PERFORMANCE
The Sales Turnover of the Company registered an increase of 20.74% as compared
to the previous year (FY 2005-06) and the profit after tax went up from Rs.
172.289 Millions to Rs. 188.067 Millions during the current year (FY 2006 - 07)
registering a PAT increase of 9.16% before consolidation.

DEVELOPMENT OF ADVANCED UPS
Numeric retained the No.1 spot (*) for the 14th consecutive year on the all
India ratings in the fragmented Indian UPS market where Indian manufacturers
and several MNCs are in close competition. Numeric has launched a new series of
intelligent UPS systems - Digital HPE series - that has generated a good
momentum in the IT / Banking sector. Numeric had already launched the very
popular series NUMERIC Digita\ HP UPS systems five years back in 20 different
versions. During the previous financial year NUMERIC Digital HPE series of
On-Line UPS systems suitable for addressing the Corporate & IT sector was
introduced into the market. NUMERIC has the total range of 1 Phase and 3 Phase
UPS systems that are built with Advanced Technology and State-of-the-art
features suitable for Unitary and Parallel redundant configurations addressing
a wider band of the Industry from PCs, Servers, Banks, Data Centers, Healthcare

The current advancement is also driving the ability to offer remote
monitoring through customer IT networks (SNMP - Simple Network Management
Protocol) and WEB enabled solutions aiming at reduction in service turnaround
time and cost. NUMERIC has very much witnessed the cost control to be more
effective with High Tech approach. The most important agenda for the R&D
and the management team is to ensure roll out of new products and that the
quality objectives are met with the ISO 9000 - 2000 / QMS policies and
practices.

DEVELOPMENT
The UPS systems are considered to be the lifeline for all major activities of
IT / Software / Banking / Insurance / Education etc and needs a good visibility
while expanding in to the rural parts / C class towns of India. A good reach to
the market has been achieved through the efficient channels created by NUMERIC.
As planned NUMERIC has already appointed TWO national Distributors and over 100
potential channel partners and grew of close to 1000 partners.
