VIVEKANANDHAA COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING FOR WOMEN was started in the year 2001 with the objective to mould
Engineering graduates, to extent the frontiers of knowledge and to serve the
educational and technical needs of the community. The college is affiliated to
Anna University and approved by AICTE. Educating women benefits the society as
a whole. Their Engineering programs are for creating capable and effective
engineers with the emphasis firmly based on technology and management

modern world is unlimited. Computers are extensively used in research and
development. As the use of computers is manifold, the demand for trained
professionals is also increasing. Openings for computer graduates are too vast

automation in Industries, Electronic Instruments pay a vital role.
The course Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering gives in
depth knowledge in the application of electronic gadgets in modern machineries
and plants .
The Electronics and
Instrumentation Engineering department impart quality education. The
laboratories are will established and having sophisticated instruments to
acquire skill.
B. TECH BIO-TECHNOLOGY
Biotechnology is a field that offers
an interface between the widest range of sciences, beginning from Biosciences
to chemical sciences, Medical engineering to different branches of Engineering.
With its increasing popularity due to its use in various commercial applications
from agriculture to pharmaceuticals, the institution has foreseen a visible
urgency to model up appropriate study courses. Biotechnology is poised to

The era of computing and IT
education is changing so fast that the restructuring of courses and curricula
presents a big challenging to educationists.
The Information Technology department
gives quality education and good infrastructure to the students. Ubiquitous
computing is fast becoming a reality in India through devices like PDAs,
Cellular Phones, Laptop, Tables PCs, etc. Business have also started realizing
the immense potential in these emerging technologies and is focusing on usage
of devices that improve productivity. In order to acquaint students with the
growing opportunities in this area and to enhance their career prospects, the
college periodically organizes seminars and workshops.

The department is well equipped with
Pentium IV 2.6 GHz multimedia packages like Adobe Photoshop, Macromedia Flash,
Macromedia Dream Waver & Software like Rational Rose, Oracle, Visual Studio

capable of connecting 150 systems at a time. The department has UNIX / DBMS
lab, System Programming Lab, Multimedia Lab, Visual Programming Lab, Case Tool
Lab, Networking Lab, and Software Component Lab. Separate Lab facilities
are provided for final year students to do their project work.

science available for reference. The departmental library has computer
facilities for effective use of the CD based materials and Internet access.
Faculty Expertise:
The department has experienced faculty members specialized in Artificial
Intelligence, Expert Systems, Neural Networks, Software Engineering, Networks,
OOPS and related fields.

the admission office before the stipulated date. Applications can also be
directly submitted to the admission office.

The management provides a state of the art hostel to all the inmates.
The facility caters to and looks after the needs of the college campus, the

administrated to provide right atmosphere for student life and assures safety
and security to their students.
Separate Hostels are available for paramedical, arts & Science,
Engineering, Education, Physical Education and teacher training Institution. As
present more than 3500 students accommodated in the hostels. All efforts have
been made to serve a wide variety of food to cater their diverse tastes. The

MEDICAL SERVICES
AND HEALTH CARE
The college has a modern, well-equipped 100-bedded general hospital
where students can get excellent medical attention and guidance on health
related issues. A super speciality eye hospital is running inside the campus.
In addition to this, individual hostels are provided with full time residential
doctors. Round the clock ambulance services are available in all the hostels.
