Uhde India to Construct Caustic Soda Plant for Kanoria Chemicals

Subject has been commissioned by Kanoria Chemicals and Industries Limited to construct their new standalone 110 tpd Membrane Cell-based Caustic Sodas/Chlorine plant at their existing complex at Renukoot in Uttar Pradesh, India.

The plant which will produce, Caustic Lye, Caustic Flakes, Liquid Chlorine and HCL is to be completed on a ‘fast-track’ basis. The plant will utilise Uhde’s state-of-the-art, well proven and environment-friendly Membrane Cell Technology.

At the recently concluded Agreement signing ceremony in Mumbai, Mr. R. V. Kanoria Chairman and Managing Director of KCIL, expressed happiness at renewing his organisation’s association with subject and hoped this would mark the beginning of a new chapter of cooperation and mutual growth. (Subject’s association with KCIL dates back to the late eighties with implementation of plants for Formaldehyde)

For subject, KCIL’s order comes in the wake of a number of recently-awarded Caustic Soda/Chlorine Orders, including those for Travancore Cochin Chemicals, Sree Rayalaseema Alkalies and Allied Chemicals, Chemplast Sanmar, Andhra Sugars and IPCL to name a few within the country, where it accounts for over 60% of the installed capacities of Caustic Sode/Chlorine Plants.
