Highlights

Established in January 2007, the Burgo Group is Southern Europe’s main

producer of graphic papers for printing.

14 paper mills, a production capacity of approximately 3 million tonnes

of paper – of which more than 80% is made up of coated mechanical reels

and coated woodfree paper – representing a European market share of 13%.

The Burgo Group is also synonymous with electricity (one of largest national

non–petrochemical self–producing company), technology (through a subsidiary

company dedicated to innovation, planning and the development of facilities)

and factoring (with important customers among the Group’s suppliers).

The history that led to all of this has distant origins rooted in the

experience of two great companies: Burgo and Marchi.

The first interaction between the two companies took place in the 1980’s:

connoted by politics and investments, a synergic growth, ensued culminating

in the merger with the Marchi Group in 2004.

January 2007 saw a historic turning point; the merger, resulting in the

new Burgo Group has taken the integration of resources, know–how and business

to new heights, creating the ideal prerequisites for the Burgo Group to

become established as a leader capable of continued evolution.
