Subject was incorporated under the name Zapata Envases
in 1994 in Mexico City and operated initially the steel division to manufacture
three-piece receptacles for food industry, steel and polyethylene buckets for
paints and chemicals, and polyethylene buckets for industry in general.
Later in the same year, the plant in Mazatlan,
Sinaloa started operating and manufactured two- and three-piece receptacles for
food.
In 1998, its PET division started operating and
manufactured receptacles for beverage and soft drink industries.
From 1998 to 2003, two more plant started operating
and manufactured PET receptacles. One is located in Mazatlan, Sinaloa, and the
other in Apizaco, Tlaxcala.
In 2003, Envases Universales de México S.A.P.I. de
C.V. was acquired and joined the group as the aluminium receptacle division.
In 2006, expansion continued and there were a total
of 15 plants where 7,000,000,000 of receptacles and 8,000,000,000 of caps were
manufactured.
In 2008, it acquired the plant of Industrias
Innopack and with this, receptacle production exceeded 11,000,000,000
manufactured only in the plants of Envases Universales.
During its path, it took over by merger the
following companies:
- ENVASES JALISCO S.A. DE C.V. (15/01/1994)
- ARRENDADORA ALBAN DOSAN S.A. DE C.V. (15/01/1997)
On 07/07/2000, it adopted the corporate name
ENVASES UNIVERSALES DE MEXICO S.A. DE C.V.
In 2009, it changed its legal status and adopted
the currently used corporate name ENVASES UNIVERSALES DE MEXICO S.A.P.I. DE
C.V.
The group has 27 plants and 6 distribution centers
of one million square meters approximately. It has strategically distributed in
the Mexican Republic, Guatemala, Colombia, and United States.
The steel division has five plants.
The PET division has twenty plants.
The aluminium division has two plants.

arrangements were performed, it was not possible to contact this company's
top executives. At this opportunity, we
were attended by Ms. Blanca Ledesma (Assistant in Financial Direction), who,
after knowing the reason of our investigation, just limited to confirm
general commercial information and provided other information of interest.
However, she refused to provide any balance sheets and/or accounting figures
by saying this information was for the company's interest, and not for third
parties' interest. Although we insisted, she did not change her mind. It should be emphasized that currently
Mexico is under a violence and crime climate, which causes little cooperation
from executives, and in most cases name of the interested party is required
to be disclosed. As time passed, we
decided to consult various independent and public sources in order to develop
this report. Collected information is included in this report. It was not
