More Business
Descriptions
Bhs Ltd. is part
of the Bhs family of companies that has grown from a single store in south
London to a multinational retail company with a major presence in the United
Kingdom and overseas. British Home Stores opened its doors in Brixton, England,
in 1928 to sell lighting with self-service cafés and food departments. It
became a public company in 1931 and, in 1985, launched an overseas programme
with its first franchise store in Gibraltar. The company also has franchises in
Europe and the Middle East. In 1986, Bhs merged with Habitat/Mothercare to form
Storehouse PLC. The influence of design had a stronger presence within the
merchandise ranges and store design and Bhs replaced British Home Stores as the
registered company name. The first store dedicated exclusively to home wares
was opened in Bath, England, in May 1998. Bhs Ltd. is in Barnstaple, Devon.

BHS to sell the
Hamptons' Modernist enclave
Real Estate Weekly
03 August 2011
[What follows is the
full text of the article.]
Luxury real estate
firm Brown Harris Stevens has been tapped to market for sale a development of
modernist residential homes by a team of internationally recognized architects.
With the directive
to achieve design excellence and push the envelope of contemporary
architecture, the architects are creating the Houses of Sagaponac.
The project was
conceived by the late Harry J. (CoCo) Brown Jr. with the assistance of
architect Richard Meier at a site north of Route 27 in Sagaponack The Houses of
Sagaponac is comprised of 32 parcels of land. The project features eight
completed homes--two of which are currently available for sale.
Expanding the
scope of the original project, buyers are now offered the choice of: acquiring
one of the houses originally designed for the project by the pantheon of
modernist architects; having a home designed for the project by an array of new
architects recently added to the project; or acquiring a parcel of land to
develop with an architect and builder of choice.
The two completed
homes for sale include The Keenan/ Riley House totaling 3,000 s/f for $2.75
million and The Henry Cobb House, totaling 3,117s/f, for $2.495 million.
There are 11
parcels of land available for sale ranging in size from 1.3 to 2.6 acres with
prices from approximately $600,000 to $725,000.
Buyers can also
choose from one of the 13 completed home designs from architects including Sam
Mockbee, Steven Holl, Richard Gluckman, Antonnio Citterio, Stephen Kanner,
Cooper Robertson, Resolution 4, Morris Sato Studio, Di Cicco Vinci (DVA),
Thread, Plaid, James Freed with prices from $2.495 Million to $5 Million.
"The change
in sales strategy for the Houses at Sagaponac now gives buyers the opportunity
to work with the plans and interact directly with the architect," said BHS
broker Ingrid Brownyard, who is exclusively marketing the project with Amelia
Doggwiler.
"This allows
buyers to have a lot more input in what they want their home to look like and
to own a house in a unique development featuring world renowned
architects"
The site will also
be home to Frank Lloyd Wright's 1954 Bachman Wilson House, which will be
relocated from Millstone, NJ.
The move will
create the only authentic example in the Hamptons of one of America's most revolutionary
architects and designers.

Hooray for Holywood Exchange as BHS Home debuts:
retailer to join Ikea at Belfast's Holywood Exchange. Christine Eade reports
Property Week
26 November 2010
By Eade, Christine
[What follows is the full text of the article.]
Northern Ireland
is to receive a special present this Christmas: the province's first BHS Home.
The furniture and
home wares retailer will open in 28,000 sq ft at Holywood Exchange, near George
Best Belfast City airport, on a base rent of [pounds sterling]10/sq ft plus
turnover or, if turnover reaches a certain level, a percentage of turnover
only.
Duncan Mathieson,
managing director of Realis Estates, who asset manages Holywood on behalf of
owner Axa Sun Life, believes the rent will be based on turnover ohly, because
the 670,000 sq ft park, where Ikea also trades, has been so successful. He adds
there is only 21,500 sq ft remaining to let.
In September, the
planning authorities consent for a 10,000 sq ft restaurant block. The scheme
comes at a time when local developer Corbo has sold two parks through Osborne
King at low yields. Andrew jones's Metric Property investments paid [pounds
sterling]34.9m for the 150,000 sq ft Damolly Retail Park at Newry, reflecting a
6.25% yield. Scottish Widows paid [pounds sterling]48m for the 200,000 sq ft
Long wood Retail Park, Newtownabbey, leading to a yield of 6.2%. By contrast
there were no retail park investment sales in the republic.
Mathieson,
however, believes Axa will not sell Holy wood, which opened seven years ago,
after an eight-year planning battle that was finally resolved by the House of
Lords.
The persistence should encourage Westfield, the Australian developer
that wants to extend Sprucefield and has inherited a planning battle that
started in 2003 (Q+A, below).

for dispenser arrangement for a refrigerator door. The inventors are Mcmillan
Mac, Ricket Matthew, Nalbach Peter, Heger Bernd and Spangler Ernest.
BHS Bosch und
Siemens Hausgerate GmbH filed the patent application on April 24, 2008. The
patent application number is 1639/KOLNP/2008 A. The international

According to the

relates to a dispensing arrangement for the door of a refrigerator, which comprises
a rest which is construction as a flap which can be displaced between a first
position and a second position. In the first position, said rest is housed in
the cavity of the dispensing arrangement, in order to form a support surface
for a vessel, for example, a glass of water. Said rest can pivot in a second
position, on the outside of the dispensing arrangement, such that an area which
is normally under the rest is open, in order to form a second support surface
which is used to support large vessels than the rest can support in the first
position. The exposed base of the flap provided a third support surface which
is outside of the cavity. Said dispensing arrangement can dispense water, ice,
or a combination thereof and comprises illuminating means as well as other
characteristics. In another embodiment, said rest when it is pivoted in the
second position, can disengage the cavity of the dispensing arrangement by
