16 -- Finland based Sandvik Mining and Construction OY filed patent
application for method and equipment for small-charge blasting. The inventors
are Ahola Erkki and Raisanen Veikko. Sandvik Mining
and Construction OY filed the patent application on June 2, 2010. The patent
application number is 3912/DELNP/2010 A. The international classification
number is E21B 7/00. According to the
Controller General of Patents, Designs & Trade Marks, "The invention
relates to a method for small-charge blasting, and a rock drilling unit used
therein. By means of a rock drilling machine of the rock drilling unit, a
drill hole is first drilled into material to be excavated, after which one or
more cartridges comprising a propellant charge are fed through a drilling
tool onto the bottom of the drill hole. The drilling unit comprises a
cartridge feed station, which is separate from the rock drilling machine and

application for method and apparatus for small-charge blasting. The inventors

Controller General of Patents, Designs & Trade Marks, "The invention
relates to a method of small-charge blasting as well as to a rock drilling
unit and a front guide to be used therein. By means of a rock drill machine

to be excavated and, subsequently, a drilling tool is pulled out of the hole.
Next, one or more propellants comprising a propellant charge are fed to the
bottom of the hole through a propellant feed channe provided in connection

whereupon a high gas pressure is generated, which causes fractioning in the
material to be excavated. During the feeding and ignition of the propellant,

and Construction, a Sweden headquartered multinational mining and
construction equipment manufacturer has received a contract from Shandong
Gold for the supply of 20 mining machines to its three mines operation in
Shandong province in China. The equipment is designated for the Sanshan
Island, Jiaojia and Xingcheng gold mines. China's
production gets 24 tonnes of gold a year from Shandong Gold's operations. The
equipment will be delivered before the end of 2012, and will be included of
Sandvik drill rigs, loaders and trucks. Through the support of new machines,
the company will get better reliability as well as operating performance for
the mines together with various productivity features. General Manager
