COMPANY PERFORMANCE

The company is completing sixth year of its operations. In latest IRS 11 Q1 the newspaper has retained its 6th position as most read English Broadsheet Daily across India and in terms of total readership it is 2nd largest Newspaper of Mumbai. During the year, a number of new initiatives and product innovations, like launch of DNA Property Central, a 4 pager Friday supplement, DNA Borivali Virar, a 4 pager Saturday Supplement, DNA SMS Alert service, DNA Money merged with main edition for better readability. Further, the company has taken the Eco Ganesha initiative to promote Green Mumbai. Further, the company has kick started the DNA India Posi+ive campaign from Republic Day, aimed to create a positivity in the society. The company has won for DNA Ya! Prestigious International Parent’s Choice Award 2011 for best Kid’s newspaper. DNA also organized Junior Journo Awards during the year. For the month October 2010 company broke even and to recognize the efforts of Team DNA the company has declared 7 days bonus for all its employees. The company has decided to increase the number of copies to 5 lacs level in Mumbai and for this in December 10 launched the subscription scheme of Rs.199 for 2 years and Rs.149 for one year. Initially this scheme has impacted us on cost front but over a period of time, will start getting its return in the form of increased ad rates and better volumes. The company has performed well and with focused efforts revenue has gone up by 17% inspite of the fact that over all Print Industry has grown by 10% (Source: Frames Report by KpMG-2011). Though the losses have increased by 6%, the Management is confident that with higher hike in ad revenue from next year onwards it will be more than compensated.
