LOCAL AGENCY FURTHER INFORMATION

OPERATIONAL RESULTS:

Consolidated turnover increased by 37% for the year ended 31.03.2011 to 3288.660 Millions due to Unit- II reaching its full installed capacity of46752 Spindles.

SPINNING DIVISION - RAJAPALAYAM:

Profit before Interest and Depreciation fell to Rs. 2,72.881 Millions (Rs.513.977 Millions year including Rs.306.963 Millions due to non recurring profit on sale of shares) After accounting for interest and depreciation of Rs. 334.239 Millions, this division reported a loss of Rs.61.357 Millions (as profit of Rs. 113.172 Millions last year). This fall was due to the sharp increase in cost of inputs in the last half of the year which was exacerbated by fall in yarn realizations and an increase in power costs due to a higher reliance on dearer DG power

O.E.DIVISION - VIRUDHUNAGAR

The O.E. Division registered an impressive 55% increase in turnover over last year. Improved realization of yarn and increased yields contributed to this increase resulting in a net profit of Rs.172.890 Millions (as against Rs. 25.788 Millions last year).

FABRIC DIVISION – RAJAPALAYAM

A continuing fall in export prices of yarn led to this division reporting a loss this year also of Rs.5.474 Millions (as against Rs.2.700 Millions last year).

However turnover was higher at Rs.94.490 Millions (Rs.67.757 Millions last year), which augurs well for t products in the export markets. They can step up marketing efforts and adopt better buying practices to improve performance and profitability.

The outlook for the current year is not very encouraging with steep decline the sales proceeds of yarn across all counts and general lack of demand in the international markets also. The Directors are taking steps to optimize the efficiency and productivity and are hopeful of presenting better results for the coming year.

SPINNING UNIT II NALLAMANAICKENPATTI

Full installed capacity of 46752 spindles was achieved during the year which led to an increase in production volume. However an increase in cost of cotton, the fall in yarn realization as explained above resulted in reported loss of Rs.93.592 Millions (Rs.116.290 Millions last year).
