INDIAN ECONOMIC OVERVIEW

Uptick in agriculture and construction spread some cheer as the economy grew a higher-than-expected 4.8 % in the three months through September. Manufacturing rose an annual rate per cent during the quarter and mining fell by 0.4 %, government data showed while farm output rose 46%.

India has emerged as the most attractive investment destination, thanks to a relaxation in foreign direct investment norms, says a report.
