Lenzing AG is an Austria-based company
active in the chemical industry. The Company manufactures cellulose fibers
and offers special plastic polymer products. The Company operates through
three business segments. Segment Fibers includes the business units Textile
Fibers, Nonwoven Fibers, Pulp and Energy. Segment Plastic Products
manufactures products, such as thermoplastics, Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE)
and precursor for carbon fiber production, among others, which are used for
special applications in medical technology, for dental floss, in the
automotive industry, for jacketing systems, in hot gas filtration and
construction materials. Its core business in fibers and plastics is
complemented by the Segment Engineering comprising Engineering and
Contracting, Mechanical Construction and Industrial Services, as well as
Automation and Mechatronics. The Company operates through its subsidiaries,
production sites and marketing offices in Asia, Europe, and North America.
For the six months ended 30 June 2013, Lenzing AG revenues decreased 7% to
EUR989.9M. Net income applicable to common stockholders excluding
extraordinary items decreased 34% to EUR64.2M. Revenues reflect Fibers
segment decrease of 8% to EUR442.3M, Plastics segment decrease of 37% to
EUR27.3M. Net income also reflects Personnel Expenses increase of 8% to
EUR163.2M (expense), Other Operating Expenses increase of 3% to EUR113.9M
(expense). |
