INDIAN ECONOMIC OVERVIEW
The current downturn
provides an opportunity to push ahead with reforms to accelerate growth, says
the latest India Development Update report released by the World Bank. The
report says that the adverse effects of rupee depreciation are likely to be
offset by the gains in the exports performance due to improved external
competitiveness. Since May this year, the local currency has depreciated
substantially and fell to a record level of Rs 68.85 to a dollar on August, 28.
A stagflation like
situation appears to have arisen as inflation jumped to an eight month high of
6.46 % for the month of September. It is up from 6.10 % in August. Growth
continues to be muted with factory output plunging to 0.6 % in August.
Onion prices have risen nearly 300 % from last September. Vegetables cost
nearly 90 % more than they did last year. Wake up to the economic contribution
of slum dwellers. They contribute more than 7.5 % to the country’s gross
domestic product, according to a recent study conducted in 50 top cities.
136000 estimated number
of jobs created during the second quarter of the current financial year. 50000
estimated number of additional jobs in the field of corporate social
responsibility in the coming years.
The International
Finance Corporation expects to come out with its rupee linked bonds issue
before the end of 2013 as a part of its plan to raise $ 1 billion. The Apple
iPhone 5c (Rs 41900 for 16 GB variant) and 5s (Rs 53500 for 16GB variant) has
been launched in India from 1st November.
The Land Acquisition
Act to provide just and fair compensation to farmers will come into force from
January 1 next year, said Rural Development Minister Jairam Ramesh. The Act
replaces a 119 year old registration. The Securities and Exchange Board of
India has approved the trading of currency futures on the Bombay Stock
Exchange. The exchange plans to launch the currency futures platform with
advanced trading technology by the end of November.

PROFILE
This is a proprietorship firm established in the year 1976 and are engaged in the manufacture, supply and exports of granite and diamond cutting tools. It is a very small firm. The proprietor is one Mr. Govindaraj.
They are very famous for their diamond dressers. A diamond based dressing tool is one that is used to clean and true the face of dry grinding wheels. There are several styles available, but most feature a T shaped head that contains diamond chips embedded into the metal face. The dresser is used in conjunction with a flat tool rest and is swept back and forth across the face of the grinding stone whilst running to clean and true the face of the stone. In addition to the multichip style of dresser, the firm has single point diamond dressing tools also. They manufacture honing equipments also. Honing may be performed on the sharpened edge straight off the grinding wheel, or in between sharpening, as a way to prolong the edge life and reduce overall wear on the tool by limiting its use on the grinding wheel. They also manufacture diamond parting tool. A parting tool features a shaft that has been ground along its full length to provide clearance on the upper and lower half of the tool. When viewed from the cutting edge, the cross section of the tool resembles a diamd~ds hape. This shape offers less metal on the side of the shaft to rub against the wood when-making deep cuts on spindles. Apart from all this they make diamond sharpening plates. They make three types of diamond sharpening plates. A block of aluminum or steel is machined flat and then impregnated with diamond chips. This method can produce the flattest surface. The disadvantages are the expense of this method and the difficulty of the process, and relatively high material costs. So this method is not often employed. Next thin steel plates are impregnated with diamond chips. These thin plates are then glued to a flat block, usually aluminum. Here the different cutting, machining and polishing methods become important to the end results. If a laser is used, for instance the heat of the process can deform the metal places. These deformations can have a bad effect on the final product and can only be corrected by a powerful press when mounting the thinner diamond plate to the base. A plastic or copper foil is impregnated with diamond chips, and the back is coated with adhesive. These foils are very flexible and can be glued onto a variety shapes and base materials to fit your needs and ideas. One of the downsides with these foils is that they are delicate and when sharpening tools and blades, it is easy to catch an edge or comer and cut through the delicate foil, ruining the surface in that area, at least. They sell diamond sharpening plates both with and without base plates because our customers have such a variety of needs and ideas. When one is often working on the road, for instance, the weight and volume of tools becomes an important consideration, and one can just use the thin diamond plates without the base plate. But this will inevitably result in a sharpening surface less flat than it could be. They also offer diamond-coated copper foils, which are very flexible and have an adhesive back.
Apart from all this they supply high quality circular saw blades for granite cutting. Their cimular saw is widely used for granites, marbles, sandstones, refractory, glass, ceramics and abrasives industries. The secret of their high product quality lies in premium quality of raw-materials. They are importing synthetic diamonds and metal powder from highly reliable sources that helps in achieving better performance.
