FINANCIAL HIGHLIGHTS

 

During the year, the Company has made profit before tax of Rs 229.800 Million as against Rs 180.200 Million of the previous year. Even though there is an increase in the expenses on account of salary revision, the overall income has increased on account of the factors like increase in pharmacy sales, laboratory and diagnostic services, income from other health services and interest income.

 

REVIEW OF OPERATIONS

 

The year saw further improvement in the performance of the company in spite of the fact that there were not enough beds in the hospital to cater to the number of patients seeking inpatient service. This was overcome to some extent by improved patient turnaround time and enhancing outpatient facilities. They could improve patient arrivals at the Executive Health check programmes, corporate clientele and overseas. They are looking forward to the timely completion of their new block to house upgraded departments of Oncology, Gastroenterology and Cardiology.

 

They have installed the latest MRI scan available in the country with software for multi-specialty applications. This includes unique functions like MR Elastography commissioned for the first time in the private sector in India.

 

They could also start a multi-organ transplant programme for the first time in the country under the leadership of experienced consultants in various fields. They could re-start their liver transplant programme which was suspended for some time. Also a second kidney transplant unit has been commissioned. A meaningful ‘deceased’ donor transplant programme has been put in place. Preparations are on for starting heart, pancreas and intestinal transplant programmes which should be the first of such initiatives in the country. An Endocrinology department and a second unit of Psychiatry also have been commissioned.

 

The construction of the new block is progressing and will be commissioned in late 2016. Some of the activities during the year are depicted in the pictures in this report.

 

 

 

 

 

OUTLOOK

 

During the year 2013-14, they have achieved a turnover of Rs 1610.000 Million (last year Rs 1370.000 Million) and made a net profit of Rs 144.600 Million (last year Rs.112.800 Million). In view of the favourable market conditions, they have projected a turnover of Rs 1900.000 Million and profit before tax of Rs 220.000 Million for the current financial year.
