SOUTH AFRICA - ECONOMIC OVERVIEW
South Africa is a middle-income, emerging market with an abundant supply of natural resources; well-developed financial, legal, communications, energy, and transport sectors; and a stock exchange that is Africa’s largest and among the top 20 in the world.
Even though the country's modern infrastructure supports a relatively efficient distribution of goods to major urban centers throughout the region, unstable electricity supplies retard growth. Economic growth has decelerated in recent years, slowing to just 1.5% in 2014. Unemployment, poverty, and inequality - among the highest in the world - remain a challenge. Official unemployment is roughly 25% of the work force, and runs significantly higher among black youth. Eskom, the state-run power company, is building three new power stations and is installing new power demand management programs to improve power grid reliability. Load shedding and resulting rolling blackouts gripped many parts of South Africa in late 2014 and early 2015 because of electricity supply constraints that resulted from technical problems at some generation units, unavoidable planned maintenance, and an accident at a power station in Mpumalanga province. The rolling black outs were the worst the country faced since 2008. Construction delays at two additional plants, however, mean South Africa will continue to operate on a razor thin margin; economists judge that growth cannot exceed 3% until electrical supply problems are resolved.
South Africa's economic policy has focused on controlling inflation; however, the country faces structural constraints that also limit economic growth, such as skills shortages, declining global competitiveness and frequent work stoppages due to strike action. The current government faces growing pressure from urban constituencies to improve the delivery of basic services to low-income areas and to increase job growth.

[General] Beware of TelAfrica / Wirels Connect (South Africa)
Please be aware of TelAfrica Mobile OR wirels Connect (pty)
Ltd t/a Telafica Mobile (pty) Ltd
represented by Botha Lebepe
I would like to inform you that the company TelAfrica is owing us (Digital
Destinations Telecom) $9,780 US Dollars for more than 6 months.
They keep promising us that they will pay us. At first they
said that the central bank in Johannesburg wont release the amount because of
regulation by the government which is totally a lie. They sent 3 false wire
transactions but nothing came through. they keep giving us false assurances and
dates to clear the amount and their routes do not work. Please be careful
Telafrica is not a fair company and sharing of false wire instruction is a
fraud.
Then they said we can send you money via Paypal. We got a Paypal account but
they didn't send any amount. The last time they asked for more time to gain our
trust. We gave them more time but nothing yet.
Now they are not responding to our e-mails, phone calls, and Skype chats.
Please be careful. They are crooks. They will steal your money. They wont pay
you anything. DON'T WORK WITH THEM.

On investigation numerous attempts to obtain contact details for the
subject proved unsuccessful as no company details are available on the
internet. A director search revealed the following numbers: +27 11 613 7138,
which when dialed is stated to not exist; +27 11 804 9433, which when dialed is
answered by a third party who has no knowledge of the company or the director,
S E LEBEPE; and +27 78 831 3093 which reverts to an automatic message sending
facility. A search utilising the supplied address reveals a company registered
as WIRELS GROUP (PTY) LTD trading as TELAFRICA MOBILE, with a listed director,
Motsokolo Lebepe, a former director at the subject, however, numerous attempts
to establish contact with him also proved unsuccessful.
A further search utilising Google, revealed a letter from a previous
supplier (see attached: http://www.dslreports.com/forum/r30381833-General-Beware-of-
TelAfrica-Wirels-Connect-South-Africa, dated October 2015) in which it is
stated that outstanding monies are owing.
A further search utilising the World Check facility revealed no listings
for either the director or the company, however, a search revealed four
judgements against the subject (see attached).
It is requested that should our client be in a position to assist with
current contact details for the subject or
the director, that they be forwarded soonest so that further investigations may
be instituted.
