BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF
THE COMPANY’S WORKING DURING THE YEAR/STATE OF THE COMPANY’S AFFAIR:
The company has been a reasonable growth rate in topline of 21% which
indicates company is on an upward path as far as growth is concerned.
However the profits have dipped from INR 6.215 Million to INR 3.295
Million. This is mainly due to writing off of major debts to the tune of INR
4.519 Million which have become irrecoverable inspite of best efforts. Without
the effect of these write-offs (pertaining to earlier financial periods), he
company would have made a profit of INR 6.323 Million.
Due to the above, the have started doing centralized credit appraisals
for all new and existing customers, wherein client profile is thoroughly
checked before offering credit. For this they have also availed services of
professional credit rating agencies. Credit appraisal will provide better
safeguards from Bad Debts in future.
During the year, the company has started doing In-House customs work at
Mumbai and Chennai. This will bring cost efficiencies in both Forwarding as
well clearance activities.
Since growth is a continuous process, focus for the year 2017-18 would
be to increase top line as well as invest in talent acquisition and leveraging
operational efficiencies by use of Information Technology. For these
objectives, the board plans to secure credit facilities from Banks for working
capital needs s that long term funds can be invested into the aforementioned
area.
